Johnson Products Co. Gets Buyout Offer: The Chicago-based personal-care products firm said it has received a $20.6-million, $17.25-a-share merger offer from a group formed by Johnson Products President Eric Johnson that seeks to take the company private. Johnson Products is one of the nation’s best-known black businesses. Its line of personal-care products for the retail and professional markets include such brand names as Ultra Sheen, Classy Curl and Sta-Sof-Fro. The company has about 1.2 million shares of common stock outstanding, with 39% publicly held.
