With Design in Mind Reports 1st Quarter Loss

With Design in Mind International Inc., a Chatsworth marketer of electronic gadgets and other novelty gifts, said it lost $295,649 in this year’s first quarter, compared with a $174,251 loss a year earlier.

The latest loss in the three months ended March 31 came on an 8% decline in the firm’s sales, to $677,607 from $734,881. For the first half of fiscal 1991, the company lost $258,775 compared with a year-earlier profit of $29,518. Its six-month sales tumbled 54% to $1.71 million from $3.68 million.

Separately, With Design in Mind said Hologram Ventures, a joint venture of With Design in Mind and the Allen Design Group of Oceanside, received a $2.4-million order from video-game maker Sega Enterprises Ltd. of Japan. The award calls for Hologram to provide video-system optics for a three-dimensional arcade game called Hologram Time Traveler.
