California IN BRIEF : SAN JOSE : $20 Million Sought in ‘Gay Bashing’
A man who videotaped his own beating filed a $20-million lawsuit against his neighbors, alleging the couple encouraged their son to assault him in a “gay bashing” that was later televised. William Kiley, who taped the outdoor June 11 assault from a camera inside his house, said he suffered physically and emotionally from the beating by the 17-year-old, who yelled “faggot” and “queer” as he hit and kicked Kiley. Kiley, 44, suffered two black eyes, a broken nose and cuts and bruises in the beating. Richard and Nancy Huff and their son were named as defendants in the suit. The family’s attorney said the Huffs did not want to comment.
