Nordstrom Workers Vote on Union: About 1,850 employees of Nordstrom Inc. began voting on whether to decertify the retailer’s only union, escalating a long-running fight over the store’s employment practices. Nordstrom employees have been known to go to great lengths for the company: warming up customers’ cars on cold days and running errands in their free time. Nordstrom says such extra customer service is voluntary, but the union calls it forced.
