Nature Center at Night--The Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim will have its last evening program of the summer Wednesday night. The program, intended for families, will focus on the nocturnal animals that inhabit the center grounds.
The program will include a brief talk and slide presentation by a naturalist. After that there will be a short nature hike to look for animals active at night such as owls, bats and raccoons.
The program is free. It will begin at 7 p.m. at the center, 6700 Walnut Canyon Road, Anaheim. Call (714) 998-8380 for more information.
Reptile Day--A Saturday morning program on reptiles will be given at the center this week. “Snakes Alive, Leaping Lizards” will teach children and their parents about the creatures indigenous to the county, how to recognize the various types and which snakes to avoid. This program is also free, and advance registration is not required. Call the center at the phone number above for more information.
