ANAHEIM : Man, 2-Year-Old Son Hurt in Home Fire
A man and his son were injured in a blaze that left their apartment gutted Wednesday morning, fire officials said.
Joseph Blair, 23, and his 2-year-old son, Kyle, were treated for burns at Humana Hospital-West Anaheim after the 8:34 a.m. fire, according to Capt. Roger Smith. Blair suffered a third-degree burn to his left hand, and Kyle was treated for a second-degree burn on his leg, Smith said.
Fifty firefighters from Anaheim, Buena Park and the Orange County Fire Department worked for about 30 minutes to control the fire in the ground-floor apartment in the 200 block of S. Western Avenue. The fire was controlled before it reached the second floor, Fire Chief Gary Wilder said.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation Wednesday.
