Nation IN BRIEF : TEXAS : Flood Crests Still Menace Some Areas
Some communities were still in the path of flood crests as high water receded slowly after flooding in many parts of Texas left 15 people dead and caused millions of dollars of damage. Hundreds of central Texas families flooded out of their homes will spend Christmas in shelters or the homes of friends, and some are threatening legal action to get a protective levee finished. Rochester Park, just south of Dallas, has been flooded four times in less than three years, and residents threatened to file a lawsuit against the city.
