CYPRESS SOUTH: Cypress Golf Club, the newest of the new courses in the county, looks good enough to play now. . . . But the Japanese company building it says getting the clubhouse finished and lining up employees will prevent opening until early fall. It’s being built on the 100-acre site of the old Los Alamitos course along Katella Avenue, near the racetrack. But the two are in stark contrast. The old course was in the $15 range and dominated by retirees and the working class. The renovated course is more plush, but look for $50 to $75 minimum green fees.
