What’s Up, Doc: A global dialogue about the future of the documentary will take place in Los Angeles Oct. 21-23 when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the International Documentary Assn. host an International Documentary Congress. The congress, announced on Thursday, will offer sessions on how to find funding, distribution and marketing, new aesthetics in documentary production, ethical standards, documentaries as tools for social change and censorship. A day-long screening of documentaries is also planned.
