Deutsche Aerospace, Fokker Merger Approved: Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Koos Andriessen has approved a merger between Germany’s Daimler-Benz unit Deutsche Aerospace, or Dasa, and Fokker, putting an end to nearly five months of difficult negotiations. Dasa initially will take an 87% stake in a new holding company for the Dutch plane maker, then sell shares equally to Alenia of Italy and Aerospatiale of France, leaving Dasa with 51% of Fokker. The Dutch government will have an equity stake of 22% in the Fokker company, which it will sell in three years, Andriessen said. During that time, it can veto any decisions relating to the merged group.
