OTS Freezes Assets of Keating Aide: The nation’s top thrift regulator has frozen the assets of Robert J. Kielty, former general counsel in Charles H. Keating Jr.’s American Continental Corp. The Office of Thrift Supervision said it learned in negotiations with Kielty over pending administrative charges that he had transferred his interest in his family’s Paradise Valley, Ariz., home and other property to his wife a week before American Continental and its Lincoln Savings & Loan subsidiary collapsed in April, 1989. The house was valued at $585,000, and the other property included bank accounts containing $230,000.
