New Jersey May Become 1st All Fiber Optic State: New Jersey state regulators approved a plan by New Jersey Bell to replace its entire network with fiber optics by the year 2010, opening the way for the state to become the first with border-to-border fiber optic communications. Such a network would give consumers access to vast amounts of information, the ability to receive hundreds of television channels and other services.
