SIMI HILLS : Environmentalists File Ahmanson Suit

Share

The environmental group Save Open Space has filed the seventh legal challenge to stop the massive Ahmanson Ranch housing project, contending that the Ventura County Board of Supervisors erred when it approved the development in the Simi Hills.

The group, joined by the Ventura County Environmental Coalition and the Woodland Hills Homeowners Organization, filed its suit Tuesday in Ventura County Superior Court. It is the seventh group to challenge the 3,050-home project.

Last week, Calabasas, Malibu and Los Angeles, as well as Los Angeles County and two homeowners groups, filed suits to overturn the supervisors’ Dec. 15 approval of the project. Although the project will be built entirely within Ventura County, most of the adverse effects such as traffic will be felt most sharply in west Los Angeles County.
