Ozzie Canseco, the twin brother of Jose Canseco, has left the Louisville Redbirds of the American Assn. The parent club, the St. Louis Cardinals, placed Canseco on the disqualified list, which will keep him from playing for any other team except St. Louis and could leave the door open for his return. He was hitting .240 at Louisville with 13 homers and 33 RBIs in 44 games with 154 at-bats.

Canseco appeared in six games with St. Louis after an injury to Bernard Gilkey, but he was returned to Louisville when Gilkey came off the disabled list in May. He hit only .176 with only three singles in 17 at-bats with the parent club. Canseco was disgruntled with the short time he had to prove himself with the Cardinals. He complained in Louisville and asked to be traded.

Canseco said he would return home to Miami as soon as today to pursue another job, possibly in real estate.
