LOS ANGELES : 2 Firefighters Injured in Garment District Blaze

Two firefighters were injured Friday battling a blaze in the downtown Los Angeles garment district.

About 60 firefighters were sent to the fire in a three-story building at 1149 S. Santee St., said Fire Department spokesman Phil Weireter. Most of the workers in the building had already been evacuated when fire crews arrived shortly after 3 p.m., he said. The two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation at a hospital and released.
