The Los Angeles chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans has established a scholarship program to encourage young Chinese-Americans to pursue or continue a college education.
The scholarships also aim to reward youths for public service and community involvement and to promote young scholars’ awareness of their Chinese heritage.
Applicants will go through a competitive screening and interviewing process.
A dozen students will be selected from high schools and colleges.
The amounts of the scholarships have not been determined.
