UCLA announced Monday that it had entered into an agreement for a home-and-home football series against Notre Dame for 2006 and 2007.

“I guess I need to start watching film,” Bruin Coach Terry Donahue remarked.

The series is the culmination of 11 years of effort, UCLA Athletic Director Peter Dalis said, and the dates were the earliest that the games could be fitted onto the school’s schedules. The Bruins will be at South Bend on Oct. 21, 2006, with Notre Dame coming to Southern California on Oct. 6, 2007.

UCLA played a home-and-home series against Notre Dame in 1963 and ‘64, losing both games. It was the only time the schools have met in football.
