Violence Invades Workplace, Study Finds: One of every six violent crimes occur at work, affecting nearly a million victims nationwide each year, according to a Justice Department report. The Bureau of Justice Statistics found that 16% of all assaults, 8% of all rapes and 7% of all robberies take place at work. The study said victims lose an estimated 1.8 million workdays each year and $55 million in wages because of the crimes.
