COUNTYWIDE : Salvation Army Seeks Volunteers
The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to help shop for clothing to benefit needy youngsters, spokeswoman Pam Abrahamsson said.
Volunteers will be needed on Saturday, Aug. 6, to accompany 120 children on back-to-school shopping sprees at local Mervyn’s clothing stores.
Each child will receive a $100 credit voucher good for clothing and footwear.
There is no cost for the volunteers, she said.
The children were chosen by caseworkers at the Salvation Army’s Family Service Centers, Abrahamsson said.
The shopping sprees will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Mervyn’s stores in the following areas: Anaheim, Anaheim Hills, Cypress, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Foothill Ranch and Tustin.
For more information or to volunteer, call (714) 832-7100.
