ANGELS/DEMONS--Are angels and demons real beings? That question will be posed to Mormon, Unitarian, Buddhist and Roman Catholic panelists Thursday night in a discussion involving audience participation at Northridge Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The program is part of a series sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council to explore in open forums the views of different faiths on religious and moral topics. The moderator for the panels is the Rev. Jeff Utter, pastor of the Congregational Church of Chatsworth.

The panelists will be Keith Atkinson, state public affairs director for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; Deryck True, president of the Studio City Unitarian Universalist Society; Paula Jakunin Fuld, an ordained lay Zen Buddhist practitioner, and Jesuit Father Andrew Diviney of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Center, Northridge.

After the panelists speak for five minutes each and exchange remarks to one another, the audience will be invited to ask questions.

DISABILITIES--Wheelchair-bound Joni Eareckson-Tada, a widely admired painter, writer and speaker in evangelical circles, will be a special guest during an afternoon picnic for people with disabilities at Paramount Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains.

The event, which includes games and entertainment, is being sponsored by the Church in the Canyon, 4235 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas. That congregation will also observe Disability Awareness Sunday during its 9:30 a.m. service.

HASIDIC STORIES--In a tribute to the late Rebbe Menachem Schneerson and his predecessors in the Hasidic movement in Judaism, author-speaker Sol Marshall will tell Hasidic stories and parables during a 10:15 a.m. program Friday at the Valley Storefront Multiservice Center for Seniors, 12821 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood.

The program is free.

MARRIAGE ENHANCEMENT--An information seminar on the Jewish Marriage Enhancement program will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Burbank Temple Emanu El, 1302 N. Glenoaks Blvd.

Like similar programs in Christian churches, Jewish Marriage Enhancement is designed for couples who have been married at least two years and have a fundamentally good marriage, to bring their relationship to its fullest potential.
