Canyon Classroom: The Oak Canyon Nature Center is offering a guided twilight hike Wednesday at 7 p.m. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring drinking water. At 7:30 p.m., a representative from Orange County Vector Control will give a presentation on what outdoor campers and hikers need to know about ticks. The program is free.

The nature center has an interpretive center and natural history museum. Canyon hiking trails are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. There is no cost for hiking or parking on site. Group tours can be arranged through the center.

To get to the Oak Canyon Nature Center from the Riverside Freeway, go south on the Imperial Highway. Take Nohl Ranch Road east about 2 1/2 miles, then turn left onto Walnut Canyon Road. The nature center is south of the Anaheim Hills Golf Course. For more information, call (714) 998-8380.
