Montana Against 49ers or Rams Against Anyone?

Share

Larry Stewart (TV/Radio Column, Sept. 9) is absolutely wrong, so tell him to get his head out of his column and pay attention.

If it wasn’t for local fans, there would not be a big game of the week. If it wasn’t for local fans, there would not be a Joe Montana or a Steve Young. If they stopped televising local games, soon there would be no local fans.

For the real fans, the game of the week is the home team’s game. Without the real fans, there is no NFL.

Being an avid Rams fan since childhood, Larry Stewart’s article made me livid.

Why on earth would I rather watch Joe Montana play the 49ers instead of my hometown team, the L.A. Rams? It was yet another reminder that this is a town that loves to put down the Rams.

I’m a Los Angeles native and I root for the L.A. teams no matter how good they are from year to year.

Because the Rams are a Southern California team, we were force fed only one game--the Rams at Atlanta--rather than seeing the 49ers-Chiefs game.

Georgia, please move your team out of Southern California so that we football fans can watch good football.
