Man Held on Suspicion of Molesting Girl
The operator of an after-school day-care center was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually fondling an 11-year-old girl.
Le Darrel Lane Martin, 41, who operates “Larry’s Camp” on Esplanade, was arrested by members of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sex Crimes Unit. He is being held in County Jail on $25,000 bail.
Earlier this week, sheriff’s investigators were notified by the Orange County Social Services Agency that one incident involving the girl may have taken place at the day-care center at Martin’s residence in February or March, according to Lt. Dan Martini.
A second incident, involving the same girl, may have taken place in Oceanside, he said.
After interviewing the girl, police arrested Martin and contacted Oceanside police. The investigation is continuing, Martini said, and anyone with information regarding additional victims is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department.
