Snowfall, Santa Drop In on Party for the Homeless

Share

About 100 homeless children and their families frolicked in man-made snow, received gifts from Santa Claus and watched an exotic bird show at the sixth annual Winter Wonderland Christmas party Sunday at the Trudy and Norman Louis Valley Shelter in North Hollywood.

The party was hosted by Continential Coin of North Hollywood.

The company supplied an ice blower that produced 13 tons of snow. An employee dressed as Santa distributed dolls, toy trucks and computer sets for the children, ranging in age from 2 to 16, said Nat Hutton, the shelter’s executive director.

Trained birds, including two cockatoos, provided entertainment.
