Patrice Bucknor, who allegedly shot a 14-year-old boy to death in Llano because of a feud with his neighbors, was formally charged with murder Tuesday and arraigned in Antelope Municipal Court.

Bucknor, 25, entered a plea of not guilty to charges he was involved in the killing of Paul Alsup, whose body was found late Friday dumped near 165 Street East and Pearblossom Highway. Bucknor, who is being held without bail, faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

According to authorities, Bucknor had been involved in a lengthy feud with his vacationing neighbors, for whom Paul had been house-sitting.

Paul called sheriff’s deputies from the house at about 6 p.m. Friday, deputies said. The teen-ager reportedly told them he had heard two rounds of gunfire outside. Deputies said they told him to remain in the house until they arrived to investigate.

Authorities say they believe that Paul, however, ventured out to try to talk to Bucknor, and then perhaps tried to get away from him. The teen-ager was shot in the back of the head.

Bucknor was arrested the next morning.

A preliminary hearing in the case is set for April 7.
