Canyon Classroom--Oak Canyon Nature Center offers a variety of children’s classes throughout the year. Additionally, the center is open daily to the public, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free.

Programs include Nature Hikes for Tykes, for 2 and older, from 10 to 11 weekdays. Four- to 6-year-olds can join Tykes on the Go. Classes are weekdays from 1 to 2.

Six- to 10-year-olds can sign up for the Nature Club. Classes meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Each class costs $3 per child. Children younger than 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Oak Canyon Nature Center is at 6700 Walnut Canyon Road, Anaheim. To get there, take the Riverside (91) Freeway to Imperial Highway. Exit and head south to Nohl Ranch Road. Turn left and travel about three miles to Walnut Canyon Road, and turn left again. Pass the Anaheim Hills Golf Course; the nature center is at the end of the road, parking is on the left.

Seed Pickup--If you purchased bird seed from the Sea and Sage Audubon Society, you can pick up your order Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Audubon House.

Proceeds fund programming at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine.

To get to the Audubon House take the San Diego Freeway (I-405) to Jamboree Road. Exit and head south. Turn left at Michelson Drive and then make a right at the second signal onto Irvine Ranch Water District property. Follow the paved road and “Duck Club” signs to the house.
