Pacific Scientific Co.: The Newport Beach manufacturer of electrical and safety equipment reported an increase of 47% in first-quarter net income to $2.5 million, or 22 cents a share, from $1.7 million, or 15 cents a share, for the comparable 1995 period. Sales gained 26% to $64.8 million from $51.6 million.
