Taking a Gamble
Oxnard’s proposed gambling casino sounds like a win-win situation to go with that city’s money-losing, acquired-by-default hotel and golf course.
The gambling casino will be handy for the new university students if they choose to add spice to their life. Maybe they will take a course in gambling.
The guests from Los Angeles can be bused from the Metrolink station, with a quick stop at the welfare office.
The winners? They can visit and spend their winnings at the nearby factory outlet stores and sleep it off at the city-owned hotel. The next day they can play golf on the city course, then start over again in the evening.
The losers? Well, the bridge and river bottom are nearby.
