PALMS : 1 Killed, 1 Injured While Changing Tire on Freeway
One man was killed and another critically injured as they tried to change a tire along the Santa Monica Freeway on Tuesday, authorities said.
“A passing vehicle struck them,” said Bob Collis, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, adding that the injured man was taken to an area hospital.
The fatal accident happened at 1:47 p.m. on the westbound Santa Monica Freeway just east of Robertson Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Shirley Gaines said.
