It’s Your Life : TOTALLY COSMIC : Getting in Touch With Psychic Options
The cutting edge of the cosmic--including psychometry, channeling and dragon cards--converges Sunday for the 11th annual Ojai Psychic Faire.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Bart’s Corner bookstore will resonate with the vibrations of a hundred inquiring minds. Well, probably more, but organizer Joan Wysong isn’t making any predictions. Except in metaphysical matters of numerology, numbers are not the point.
“Each of us gives free talks about what we do, so people can understand the psychic world and not think we’re strange,” says Wysong, a Tarot card reader and retired high school teacher.
Wysong will open the event with a talk about developing your own psychic abilities. Bette Kemp will cover channeling and psychometry--clairvoyance through contact with an object. Graphology expert Marlene Vallen, who’s worked with Southland police on forgery cases, will offer handwriting analysis. Ed Brough’s specialty is dragon cards, an Oriental numerology system. Ojai Tarot wizard Judianne will be on hand, along with palm reader Nina Forte.
Wysong reminds New Age advocates and skeptics alike that a psychic’s advice is never cast in stone. “You can change your fate, your destiny, any time. We offer options and direction. The decision-making is up to you,” she says.
Fair attendance is a matter of free will. Admission and discussions are complimentary. Psychics will be in session, and personal readings cost $15.
