Toshiba America Information Systems Appoints 2 Executives

* Shunki Yatsunami has been appointed president of Irvine-based Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. Hisatsugu Nonaka has been named senior vice president for the computer systems group. The two men succeed Atsutoshi Nishida, who has returned to Tokyo to direct Toshiba Corp.’s worldwide personal computer business. Yatsunami will be responsible for the company’s seven divisions and Topac, a wholly owned subsidiary.

* James L. Hannefield has been named vice president of finance for Hyundai Motor America in Fountain Valley. He previously served as director of finance. Before joining the company in 1985, Hannefield was corporate controller for Computer Automation in Irvine. Dotty Diemer has been promoted to national manager of public relations and government affairs. She was formerly manager of public relations and government affairs. Laura Flores has been appointed manager of shows and exhibits. Flores, who joined Hyundai in 1989, had been advertising administrator and administrator of exhibits and special events.

* George G. Bayz, Alan A. Gleicher and Morton O. Schaprio have joined the board of directors of MAI Systems Corp., an Irvine-based information systems and computer products company. Bayz is president and chief operating officer of MAI. Gleicher is vice president of sales for Intuit Corp., a publisher of personal finance and tax preparation software products. Shapiro is a professor of economics and dean of USC’s College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

* Sheila M. Haythornthwaite has joined the Irvine office of Geraghty & Miller Inc., an environmental consulting, engineering and infrastructure firm, as air quality services office program manager. She was formerly a principal of HB Energy in Santa Ana.
