Rainbow Technologies Inc.: The Irvine software protection company reported second quarter profit of $2.3 million, or 30 cents a share, 44% higher than the $1.6 million, or 22 cents a share, for the 1994 second quarter. Revenue increased 15% to $16.7 million from $14.5 million. The company said an acquisition contributed to earnings. First-half profit showed a 33% gain, to $4.4 million, or 58 cents a share, from $3.3 million, or 44 cents a share, for the like period last year. Revenue was up 19% to $32.4 million from $27.2 million.
