Varco International Inc.: The Orange manufacturer of oil and gas well-drilling equipment said net income for the second quarter was $5.4 million, or 17 cents a share, 86% above the $2.9 million, or 9 cents a share, for the second quarter of 1994. Revenue climbed to a record $76.8 million, a 34% gain from $57.5 million. For the first six months of 1995, net income totaled $8.3 million, or 26 cents share, 57% higher than the $5.3 million, or 16 cents a share, reported for the first half last year. Revenue rose 24% to $134.4 million from $108.8 million. The company attributed the revenue increase primarily to gains in the drilling systems division.
