From Times Staff and Wire Reports

In yet another management change, Apple Computer will announce today the resignation of its chief marketing executive because of continuing disagreements with the firm’s chief executive, sources said Wednesday.

Daniel L. Eilers, senior vice president of worldwide marketing, has agreed to leave the company and his position will be eliminated, according to Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies Research International in San Jose.

Another source inside Apple confirmed that Eilers is leaving. He will be joining former Chief Financial Officer Joseph Graziano, who stepped down in October after sharp disagreements with Michael Spindler, Apple’s chief executive. Eilers and Graziano were close allies.

Eilers’ and Apple’s spokesmen did not immediately return telephone calls seeking comment.

Eilers, who will stay on during a transition period, has been Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing since April.
