How’s Flicks? The American Film Market, an annual film bazaar where foreign companies shop for movies ranging from artsy films to video slasher, runs through Thursday in Santa Monica. This year’s program features at least one marquee name in actor and director Mel Gibson, who is scheduled to speak at a luncheon today on the making of the Oscar-nominated “Braveheart.” Producer Peter Guber, who has kept a relatively low profile since he was ousted as chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment in 1994, is scheduled to speak Wednesday on “Hollywood Graffiti . . . a View From the Hubble Space Telescope of the Entertainment Business.” Business done at the film market, which isn’t open to the general public, is a good barometer of Hollywood’s overseas business.
