First Conroy-Spitzer Debate Set for Friday
Assemblyman Mickey Conroy and Todd Spitzer, county prosecutor and Brea Olinda Unified School District trustee, will square off Friday in their first public debate.
Spitzer and Conroy (R-Orange) are in a runoff election Nov. 5 for the Orange County Board of Supervisors 3rd District seat vacated by former board Chairman Gaddi H. Vasquez in September.
The debate, set for 11:15 a.m. at Brea Olinda High School, is sponsored by the school’s Social Studies Department as part of a lesson on county government.
Fullerton Mayor Chris Norby, a social science teacher at Brea Olinda who organized the event, said 350 of the school’s seniors will attend the debate. “It’s not just an academic exercise for them,” he said. “Virtually all of them will be voting in November.”
