Further Musings on Mediaprocessors

Share

“Follow His Muse” (April 15) may not have clearly conveyed the relative performance of MicroUnity’s mediaprocessors and Intel’s Pentium.

Although it is true by certain criteria that our design will be many times faster than a Pentium microprocessor, the Pentium will itself run native PC software faster than a mediaprocessor.

It is also worth noting that Pentium microprocessors have been in high-volume production for years, while mediaprocessors are only just emerging from development.
