Work to Do

A really good attitude is still the best thing a teenager can take to a summer job interview, says a woman who helps about 3,000 young people find work annually (B1). . . . Joyce Waldron, who heads the Ventura Youth Employment Service, says it’s important to demonstrate a strong work ethic and neat appearance. “You just put your best foot forward,” she says.

Radio is very intangible,” says Hess, shown here with Clear Vision General Manager Patrick Reynolds.

President Clinton’s call for more flex time for working parents took the spotlight, but Patagonia Inc. chief executive David Olsen was also a popular speaker at the same conference on work and the American family (A10). . . .
