World IN BRIEF : UNITED NATIONS : Inspector Says Iraq Is Hiding Weapons
Iraq is hiding banned weapons and related material, some on trucks moved around the country to frustrate U.N. inspectors, the top U.N. inspector said. Baghdad gave Rolf Ekeus what it called complete files on its banned chemical and biological weapons programs over the weekend, and declarations on its nuclear and missile programs are expected soon. Ekeus said his team is convinced that Iraq is still “concealing some important components and weapons and . . . important documents explaining their program.” Iraq has denied it is concealing any weapons.
