Light-middleweight boxer David Reid easily won his first-round fight the other day, but that didn’t mean he could celebrate.

Upset that Reid didn’t keep his hands high enough at times, U.S. boxing Coach Al Mitchell said it was time to drive home the point.

“It may cost him an hour,” said Mitchell, who has trained the 22-year-old Reid since he was 10. “They have to be in their rooms at 10 and lights out an hour later. He’ll have to be in at nine and lights out at 10.

“He’ll remember that he can’t leave his hands low.”
