Camera Platforms Posts Bigger 2nd-Quarter Loss

Camera Platforms Inc. posted a wider loss in its second quarter on a 26% drop in revenue.

The Valencia-based concern, which rents and sells equipment used in filming for television and movies, suffered a net loss of $483,000 in the quarter ended June 30, compared with a $290,000 loss in the second quarter last year. In the latest quarter, Camera Platforms’ revenues were $779,000, down from $1.1 million a year earlier.

For the six months, the company’s net loss rose to $917,000, up from a loss of $371,000 a year ago. Total revenues for the latest six months fell 32% to $1.6 million, down from $2.3 million last year.

The company has been trying to find a buyer and said it is still continuing discussions with prospective purchasers.
