Chad Morton Hits Once Too Often
Leave it to John Robinson’s smallest player to register the best hit of USC’s preseason training camp.
Chad Morton, a 5-foot-8 and 180-pound freshman cornerback and younger brother of ex-Trojan Johnnie Morton, nailed 200-pound fullback Rodney Sermons after he caught a pass, knocking the ball loose and putting Sermons flat on his back.
But within 10 minutes, Morton was in the doghouse--for running into kicker Adam Abrams on a drill, and Robinson roasted him.

USC managers went through 10 45-pound bags of ice in Tuesday’s two practices, with temperatures in the mid-90s.
The managers provided iced towels during frequent water breaks. And the players had a special treat midway through the afternoon drill--a Popsicle break.
