Some on City Staff to Get 2.5% Pay Raise
The city’s professional, clerical and technical employees will receive pay raises of 2.5% annually for the next two years, officials said.
Civil engineer assistants, child development teachers, assistant planners, secretaries, clerks, code enforcement officers and engineering aides are among those getting the pay increases, which are retroactive to Aug. 31.
City Manager Jerry L. Bankston said other employees have already received pay raises. The city approved a two-year contract for firefighters six months ago, giving them a pay increase of 2.5% in each of the next two years.
Police officers are now negotiating raises, Bankston said.
