Chargers Lose Glen Young

San Diego reserve linebacker Glen Young will have surgery on his injured knee and will sit out the rest of the season. The Chargers also announced that starting center Courtney Hall, sidelined because of knee and shoulder injuries, and guard Troy Sienkiewicz, who is bothered by a neck injury, will undergo surgery today. Both are out for the season.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who had a virtually injury-free season last year, have suffered a series of injuries that leaves the left side of their line in question for Sunday’s game with the Chargers.

Left tackle John Alt has not practiced in three weeks because of back problems, left guard Dave Szott has a hip injury, and Jeff Criswell, Alt’s backup, has a bruised knee and a hamstring injury. Szott might play.

The Miami Dolphins activated defensive end Jeff Cross and placed guard Chris Gray on injured reserve. Grayo broke his right leg Sunday at Houston.
