Datum Acquires Assets of Clock Producer

Datum Inc. said Wednesday it has acquired substantially all of the assets of privately held Sigma Tau Standards Corp., a Tuscaloosa, Ala., producer of hydrogen maser clocks. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

Datum said Sigma Tau had revenue of about $1 million in 1996. Datum, which makes products used to synchronize the flow of information in telecommunications networks, posted revenues of $91.8 million in 1996.
