Clipper update--Forward Rodney Rogers, who sat out the final three quarters of Tuesday night’s 127-117 loss to the Houston Rockets because of a sprained ankle, didn’t practice Wednesday. Rogers, who had 10 points in the first quarter before he was injured, said he hopes to play tonight. The Clippers have a three-game lead over the Sacramento Kings for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff berth with six games remaining. The Clippers have lost their last two games to the Timberwolves after beating Minnesota by 11 points Nov. 10 at the Sports Arena.

Timberwolf update--Contending for the first playoff berth in the franchise’s eight-year history, the Timberwolves are in seventh place in the Western Conference, three games ahead of the Clippers. Three of the Timberwolves’ final six games are against playoff-bound teams. Forward Tom Gugliotta is averaging a team-high 21.1 points and 8.7 rebounds.
