The NCAA Basketball Championship, the week’s most-watched program, boosted CBS to first place for week 29 of the 1996-97 season. CBS placed first in households, total viewers, nights won and half-hours won for the week ending April 6. NBC had the week’s top comedy, “Seinfeld,” drama, “ER,” newsmagazine, “Dateline Tuesday,” and movie, “Blown Away,” in adults 18 to 49 years old.
