Firm to Appeal Loss of Massage License

Share

A local business will appeal the city’s revocation of its massage license at a Planning Commission hearing Wednesday.

Holistic Healing Arts Center representatives are asking commissioners not to revoke the firm’s license, despite the arrest of at least two employees in September for allegedly agreeing to perform sex acts for undercover officers, said City Manager John B. Bahorski.

Telephone calls to the center’s offices in the 34700 block of Coast Highway went unanswered Tuesday afternoon.

The city code allows officials to revoke a business’ massage license if a therapist is caught soliciting sex for pay, Bahorski said.

If the commission upholds the revocation, the center can appeal to the City Council.

The 7 p.m. meeting will take place at City Hall, 33282 Golden Lantern. Information: (714) 248-9890.
