TV Show to Focus on College Financial Aid
Two Valley cable companies Monday will televise a live conference on financial aid for college-bound individuals.
The special interactive television program, titled “Financial Aid Night,” will enable viewers to call in and ask questions of Secretary of Education Richard Riley and representative of the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Hosted by Rep. Howard L. Berman (D-Mission Hills), the program will be televised from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Monday on cable channels 1 and 97 for East Valley Telecommunications Inc. subscribers and channel 27 for viewers in the San Fernando Time Warner system.
“This is the first video conference of its kind that we are aware of,” said Fred Flores, field representative for Berman. “The airing of this program is the most cost-effective way to share this information across the nation. It should be an excellent opportunity for students to learn how to pay for their college educations.”
