A Man of Compassion Writes for The Times

Bravo to Paul Dean. “L.A. Gets It Together to Do the Right Thing” (Nov. 12) was very moving.

Anyone who will stop for an injured dog and then assure the shelter he will adopt the dog is a friend of beast and a friend of mine.

Kudos to a wonderful writer and to a wonderful and compassionate person.

Even though I have never written a letter to a newspaper, I felt that I must respond to “L.A. Gets It Together. . . .”

I laughed, cried and, even though it didn’t exactly have a happy ending, I felt better knowing there are still men like Paul Dean out there in the world.

I am saving that story to reread when the world seems like a cold and uncaring place.
